From Moonlight, to Black Panther, to If Beale Street Could Talk, independent and black filmmakers are finding ways to produce their stories, despite the funding and other challenges inherent in the industry in the US. Caribbean filmmakers producing content, are no exception, and face even more hurdles and perhaps different hurdles, coming from or centering their work in a community whose support for their work, is just now being built.

Join us, as we talk with emerging filmmakers of Caribbean heritage, living and working in the US, and producing both in the US and the Caribbean. We’ll get to know them, their vision, their process, and give them a chance to share with you, how you can support them and many other filmmakers who want to share their stories with you.

The talk will be moderated by Nyasha Laing of One Island Media, and will feature Emann Odufu, Chelsea Odufu, and Paul Pryce.
